My Bal(Main) Pain

Yes, I know that this is not how you pronounce BALMAIN...but I couldn't miss the play on words that so accurately describe my dilemma.

Have you ever wanted something so bad that it became your obsession. You think about it day and night, so much that it consumes you? Yea? Well that's how I've been since I seen Jordan Dunn and Kendall Jenner on the red carpet of the Billboard Music Awards with Oliver Rousteing, when they announced the Balmain X H&M collaboration. I died a little inside when I seen the beautiful embellished jacket that Kendall was wearing.

Probably because I had been obsessing over the one that her sister Kim had previously worn, and I thought that I could FINALLY have something similar that I could actually afford.

Over the next few months, I waited patiently to hear any word of more of the designs being shown, or a price list. Finally last month, there was a leak of the rest of the designs! I was in love with everything immediately. Every piece looked as though it was well crafted, and replicated many of the previous Balmain releases. Unfortunatley, with the leak of the designs, came the leak of the prices.

Yikes! I knew that the items would be expensive, but I guess that the name "H&M' gave me a false sense of security. I've purchased items before from other H&M designer collaborations. Although the items were pricey, they were still affordable for a grad school student :) After looking through all of the items, I decided on a few that I would be able to afford, and awaited NOVEMBER 5th.

As you know, November 5th came and went, along with all of the clothes. The website and app were crashed before the release at 5am, and once you got through everything was sold out. I live in Southern California, and all of the stores in LA had huge lines that served no purpose to wait in. So here I sit...really sad lol With the Alexander Wang collaboration, I was able to get some items that were resold on eBay. (You can purchase my dress that I am selling here.) But unfortunately, the resell price for the Balmain line is way too expensive (the highest thing that sold was for $4,000!). So alas, I sit her and will have to find another way to get these beautiful items (I still have hope!). Below are some of the items that I was hoping to get.

Items and prices listed in order (All pictures taken from hm.com):
1. Leather Waist Belt ($129)
2. Beaded Velvet Blouse ($499)
3. Sandal Boots ($199)
4. Long Wool Jacket ($149)
5. Beaded Velvet Jacket ($549)
6. Wool Jacket with Satin Lapels ($129)
7. Beaded Silk Blouse ($129)
8. Color-Block Turtleneck Dress ($69)
9. Leather Jacket ($399)

I so wish that they would do a giveaway contest...or just send me some items cause I'm such a nice person lol

Were you able to get any items?

Kourtney Kardashian for less

Kourtney Kardashian was spotted at her store "Dash" wearing this cute jumpsuit from Nastygal, along with Stella McCartney Platform Shoes. The jumpsuit is pretty affordable, but I also found some similar shoes from H&M! Click the links for details.
